September 2026 once again made Italy the world capital of design. From September 21 to 25, the Antey Group team worked at the Cersaie exhibition in BolognaFiere. Our goal is to select the most promising innovations and provide our partners with up-to-date solutions. We analyzed hundreds of stands of leading European factories and highlighted 5 macro-trends that will dominate the premium segment in the coming years.
Nature & Art Objects
1. Biophilic Design and Monumental Stone
The modern bathroom is ultimately transforming into a relaxation zone. At Cersaie 2026, we observed a massive shift away from plastic textures in favor of deep surfaces imitating stone. Monolithic washbasins with marble textures combined with living plants create an architecturally expressive space.
2. Exclusive Handmade Glass (Murano Glass)
The absolute breakthrough in the luxury segment was the return of art glass. Factories presented countertop washbasins made of translucent colored glass, where the play of light and imperfect "handmade" shapes turn sanitary ware into the main art object of the interior.
3. The Era of Colored Metals and Complex Geometry
The era of exclusively round chrome shapes is ending. Leading brands (including Azzurra) demonstrated bold solutions: hexagonal and asymmetrical washbasins that set a new rhythm to the space.
Faucets and fittings are massively shifting to matte finishes in antique copper, bronze, muted green, and deep blue. The integration of smart elements into such faucets is becoming a new standard for premium equipment.
4. Total Colorization of Matte Ceramics
Sanitary ceramics are no longer obliged to be exclusively white. Complex, muted shades dominated the exhibition. Special attention was drawn to lines of wall-hung toilets and bidets in pastel blue, pink, gray, and deep wine (burgundy) colors. This allows architects to seamlessly integrate sanitary ware into the overall color scheme of the interior without visual disruption.
5. Fluted Design and Tactility
Tactile experience has come to the forefront. Freestanding bathtubs and floor-standing washbasins with fluted (ribbed) facades became one of the most noticeable trends in Bologna. They not only add volume to the product thanks to the play of light and shadow but also blend perfectly with the warm sandy and terracotta shades of floor coverings.
Forming the Warehouse Program
A trend remains just an idea until it is implemented in a project. Antey Group is already working on updating the warehouse program so that the freshest solutions from Cersaie 2026 are the first to become available for our B2B partners in Ukraine.
